We're going.......to be cold

For those who don't know, Todd is going to Podiatry school next fall. He's going to deal with stinky feet for the rest of his life.
Good thing it's not me that's doing it, I think feet are gross. Anyway, he's applied, interviewed, been accepted, and we have decided to go to Des Moines University in Iowa!! Hooray! I keep wanting to break into song, "you really ought to give Iowa a try!" and "you are in Iiiiioowaaaayyy." (from the music man) So we're off in July next year, and we'll be Iowans for about 4 years. Did you know that the original name for Des Moines was "Fort Raccoon"? We could have been raccoonians!

P90X

We have jumped on the bandwagon. We are going to do P90X! We thought if we post something about it that maybe, just maybe, we will be a little more likely to do it. So if this post gets deleted in a few weeks, you know we gave up, but let's just hope that doesn't happen! I guess we will just have to see how it goes. We will keep you posted.

...And then there were two

So our next few posts will be blasts from the pasts, we have much to catch up on! We wanted to cover how we met, dating, engagement, wedding, and all that jazz. So today's post is mine and Todd's story, awwwww. So sit back and enjoy the tale! Don't worry it's the Reader's Digest version, ha ha.

We are both from Orem but went to different high schools. We met one summer through a mutual friend. I knew him already and Todd had met him at EFY and they decided to hang out after it was over. So our friend invited me and another girlfriend of mine to come hang out with his new pals. I met Todd and a couple of his close friends, and we all got along really well. We would hang out from time to time over then next couple of years, but it was never more than that. We slowly lost touch, then Todd went on his mission, and I worked with his brother-in-law so I asked him every once in a while how Todd was doing. Then a year or so later I decided to go on a mission, and I left about a month before Todd got back from his. Now the story gets good, ha ha.

So when I was in the MTC, an elder my companions and I had met wanted to take a picture with us before he left. He was called to a foreign mission but had to go stateside for a couple months to wait for his visa. So where did he get sent? To the Washington Kennewick Mission!! Where little Elder Jaramillo was finishing up his mission. The elder was in Todd's district, and one day Todd was looking at pictures in the elder's camera. He came across the picture I was in and upon a closer look he realized it was me! He didn't even know I was on a mission, so it was a surprise to see me. He got my mission address from his mom, after some detective work to figure out where I was serving, ha ha, and wrote me a letter! I was really surprised when I got it because it had been so long since we had talked, but I was excited to hear from him! So we kept in touch pretty casually throughout my mission, just catching up and sharing our experiences, me on my mission and him adjusting to life at home. Then in one of the last letters I got from him, just before I got home, he mentioned how we should get together when I got back. I thought it would be fun to see my old pal again, so when I got home I wrote him on good ol' facebook, ha ha. We met up one night and I still remember what he was wearing, cuz he looked so good! Ha ha. I realized how good it was to see him again, and I really wanted to be friends again and see him. But poor awkward me, we hung out several times and went on dates, and I was totally oblivious to the fact that he was interested in dating me! Ha my mindset when I got back was to just make a lot of guy friends and go slow into the dating thing. I'm pretty sure I did have a crush on him though, but I brushed it off for who knows why. I think he was getting kind of fed up with my clueless-ness, because one night after hanging out he flat out asked me, "I just have to know.... Would you ever date me?" I thought about it for a second, and replied, "I think I could!" :) I knew I liked him, and I knew I could see myself dating him, but I was hesitant to rush into a relationship soon after being home. But I had known Todd for so long, and we had gotten to know each other better on my mission, so part of me didn't feel like it was rushing with him. I always felt really good when I was with him, he made me feel important, and I always had a good time with him. So after a couple of weeks of thinking it over, I wanted to see where things could go with Todd. Then conference weekend, he told me he wanted to date me, and I said ok! So that's how it all began!

Bored....

So I (Todd) have been pretty bored the last few days. I was so bored yesterday that I decided to do some research. I looked up youtube videos on people having their nasal stents taken out. After watching one, I realized why I can't breathe through my nose. I thought the stents were tiny little plastic straw things, but little did I know they're HUGE! Yeah that is a picture of a stent, I have one in each nostril! If you really want to see a video, look it up on youtube, but I don't dare post one here. Besides my "research," I have had my video game fix. I decided that once I am back to 100% I don't want to be lazy. I have had enough of that to last me a lifetime. I hope Michelle doesn't mind if I post my own entries here once in awhile... I guess that is what she gets for leaving me home while she is out getting an education and making money ha ha ha.

And so it begins!

Well, we have finally succumbed to the world of blogging! First of all we need to clarify the name of our blog so nobody thinks we are cocky people! Ha ha but growing up my (Michelle) best friend and I would call each other "beautiful" as a nickname. So when Todd and I got married, I became a Jaramillo and he became a beautiful! Ha so we became the Beautifuls, and from here on out you can keep up with our comings and goings right here! We have been married for almost 3 months, and it has been an excellent adventure. A lot has happened since August! We started another semester at BYU, I went to Italy for two weeks (without Todd!!), Todd has applied and been accepted to Podiatry school, and at this very moment I am looking after Todd as he's recovering from surgery (don't worry, just to fix his deviated septum in his nose)! So there you have it, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and a blog begins with a single post!
